97-99 RON

Post by Nickyboy » Sun Apr 22, 2012 8:51 pm

Are these fuels worth the extra cost in our cars? I used it in the vrs but didn't notice any difference. Will I in the S4? The lid says 95 RON on the filler cap. Your thoughts guys?

I assume all the RS cars are running 98 RON maps, the S3 certainly is, if so then yep they are, you should get more power and better economy

on none mapped NA engines its a suck it and see thing, most blown engines respond well to it

Il fill up with it then and see. I'm guessing the new car is providing poorer than expected economy due to it not being run in yet anyway. Also to be fair my right foot has being enjoying 4WD and instant power waaaaay too much. Time to ease off the right foot for a few hundred miles. I'm not overly concerned about the economy/power yet but if super unleadeds actually improves both then it's worth the extra to me.

Iv run my S4 on 95 for 9,500 miles no issues and it goes like stink

Economy improves with miles. Should get 30on a run

But if your gunning it you will get 20mpg at best

I've run mine on 95 for 16 months no problems at all on performance i personally don't think its worth the extra cost .ive done 9000 miles and averaged 20.9mpg since owning the car. i do a lot of short journeys but 30mpg on a run is easily achieved
