Re: BIMMER Thefts
Blimey charlie, what next!
It seems like the manufactures have gone full circle. We started with the basic ignition key/barrel which could be hotwired, then they put a chip in the key which made it nearly impossible to get past without the key, necessitating burglary. Now we're almost back to hotwiring, albeit with a box of tricks. Not sure if this is good or bad, at least they don't have to break into your house anymore bringing you into contact with the thieving scum!
I can't see keyless Audis being immune for long; it's just a matter of time before the box of tricks is adapted to work on VAGs
Scary stuff

Re: BIMMER Thefts
thats scary!
i do like watching the car crime programs on sky, just to make sure i can somehow take some kind of prevention.
but it seems that if your car is marked for theft, they will have it at all costs, but maybe modern technology that the consumer is demanding, is also making the thiefs job much easier. i'm with some of the guys on there, bmw have got to do something about this soon.
