Order books don't open til May and given UK price and spec isn't confirmed then I guess its gonna be pretty difficult to order one!

My thoughts exactly now that I have seen a bit more of it.

I'm going to ask for a refund of my 1k (to get me on the list).
Never got a proper receipt from Audi dealership anyway.

It's not even a registered model yet so your dealer has a bit of a cheek charging you anything Tim and as DK says it is not a limited production run either. Get your money back.

Yes you're all right. I was a complete <beep>. It was a spur of the moment thing... (which I don't do well).

Haven't paid the credit card yet, so its no sweat.

Well, after leaving photos up on the laptop, copies of auto car and EVO left open on the RS4 page around the house (every day) and generally winding up the wife about 'her' new car......she finally snapped this evening and told me to 'just bloody order one if it will shut you up" and "I never have any say in our cars anyway!". Good girl! :jump_clap:

I've got a loan 2011 S4 saloon for a few days whilst my front bumper is repainted (long story - an old dear scratched it end of last year and is only now being sorted out through her insurance...) and I have to say that I absolutely love it! It has really surprised me. The performance is genuinely impressive and I don't believe it's that's much slower than my RS4 90% of the time. OK, it doesn't sound great and the economy in only slightly better but I do love the S Tronic and the improved cabin and MMI is a big plus for me. It doesn't have any wow factor sadly, but if I was being sensible then I would happily get a year old S4 avant as a daily driver. You would have to be balls out in a B7 RS4 to lose a well driven B8 S4 IMO.

Whilst I'm still to be totally convinced of the new RS4 (and would love to see a grey or black one in the flesh as I think it will look miles better than that red Audi insists on currently) I think the combination of better cabin, much improved MMI etc and the S Tronic Box (I'm converted now) would make the new RS4 a better overall car for what I want from a single car (not too flash for business use, single household car that carries 3 of us and luggage, ticks the petrol head box, holds it head high on the annual Le Mans pilgrimage and can get up to Perthshire in mid winter without dramas).

And then, of course, you realise that you already pretty much have this with your existing avant........ :bash:

If the new car looked better in the pictures (and you guys who've seen it in the flesh don't seem to be overly impressed) then I would be at the front of the queue to place an order but I suspect that like some of you I need to see the car in the flesh and drive it first before ordering. So the wife is going to have to put up with crashy SS+ suspension for a few months yet...

I'm not overly impressed only from the perspective that it is not worth some £50k more than what I have now. I'm sure it will look great in Mugello Blue or Suzuka Grey with the right wheels and trim and some options but I have a real hard time saying that what I will gain from the experience of B8 over B7 will be worth that extra cash over what I have now I'm not a great fan of the B8 styling but said the same about the B7, then the RS4 took it to another level of agression which made it desirable. The B8 RS4 front and rear IMO is chavtastic fake, maybe I'm just getting too old.

It may well be that I do the same as I did with my current RS4 and wait for a used one but I suspect getting the spec I want in a used vehicle will be really difficult by which time either I will have enough money for the TTS s/c or an R8 V10.

P_G ... it didnt really matter what Audi did to the B8 RS 4 ... its never going to be worth £50k more than a B7 ... those kind of economics just wont work ... its a brand new car
