R8 Woes

Post by lofty » Tue Oct 25, 2011 6:25 pm

Well after owning the Vantage for 6 weeks it went back to the dealer and I got back my RS4 Cab.The guys down at Revolution discovered a few issues with it whilst changing the tyres so back it went.I searched for another one but was getting crap bids for the RS off AM dealers so I decided to blow the budget and get a R8.I picked it up on Saturday from an Audi dealer in London, but it didnt make it back without the help of the RAC.It went into to Tyneside Audi who diagnosed a collasped front diff  .They have sent all the details to the warranty co. but have said they dont think they will pay out on a car that has just left an Audi dealer after undergoing its 145 check, service and mot :audibash: .I cant blame then tbh if they do reject the claim.Tyneside Audi also gave it a healthcheck and found a low oil level, missing rivets on the engine undertray and slight corrosion on the front disks, I'm not too concerned about the 2 latter items but the oil is a bit of worry considering it was only serviced a week ago.I'm getting the feeling the supplying dealer has not carried out the correct checks or service.I have stayed calm up to now, mainly due to the great service I have received from Audi Assist (apart from having an Insigna at the mo) but I'm starting to run out of patience. If I start getting the run around I will be on the phone to Audi CS tomorrow.
I'm not very mechanically minded, can anyone explain what is involved in the repair of the front diff. Thanks

1. Call Audi UK CS immediately

2. tell the supplying dealer to collect the car and rectify the issues under the 30day guarantee or provide a refund

Got the R8 back yesterday.Great service from Tyneside Audi , woeful service from Audi Approved. They have still not approved the work, the service manager at Tyneside had to persuade Audi GB to authorize the work and cover the cost until the warranty co decide if they are going to pay.Well worth the wait though, I've given myself the day off to enjoy my first full day with it.
