rs2 seat rattles

Post by wowow » Sat Oct 08, 2011 9:45 am

My front seats (both) has a lot of "play", ie, if you shake them, they will rattle. The previous owner of the car has retrimmed the seats but somehow he must have left out some parts when putting the seats back into the railings. I can see the "wheel"on the seat base moving when I shake the seats. I like to know if my guess is right, or the car do have that problem, and any suggestion as to how to solve that. thanks

as you can see in the photo, the "wheel"is outside of the railings and there is a rectangular metal piece in the railing but it is not thick enough and therefore result in lots of play.

I have had this. THere's a missing bit of plastic that goes between the spigot and the rail. Have a look around under you seat to see if you can find it.

It might have just disintegrated.

Looks like part numbers 893 881 203A and 893 881 203, outer and inner respectively.

Definitely the nylon guides as shoppinit mentions.

Had to replace them on mine. If you're removing the seat to fit them, I'd also replace the front centre one, where the release lever is mounted which is another common problem. (Same setup as Golfs etc of the same era)
