Erratic on board computer

My onboard computer tells me my fuel tank is empty, my fuel gauge tells me almost a quarter full.

I fill the car up and it takes 52 litres, the RS2 fuel tank holds 62 litres.

So who's right? The good old fuel gauge it seems.

Anyone else experienced this and if so is there anyway the fuel warning element of the computer can be disconnected?

i have replaced a couple of fuel gauges on these in the past, seemed to be pretty common to fail.
