DRC Check

Post by ShaneyB » Thu Jun 23, 2011 9:37 am

Hi all,
I'm correct in thinking I HAVE to have FASH to take advantage of the extended DRC warranty right?

Have a service due in a month or so and would rather use MRC or Fontain (Indie Audi specialist).

I have no complaints with the DRC and all seems spot on. I'll have MRC look at it when I go in on the 9th then make a decision.

Cheers
Shane

Its a bit of a grey area. I think PetrolDave had his replaced with no FASH, but most dealers ask for FASH. I've also heard that when the 5yrs is up, Audi will still give some goodwill depending on the extent of FASH.

I intend keeping mine serviced at Audi (long life) and letting MRC do everything else including interim oil changes.

Cheers Steve,
It has FASH now but I've always used Fontain when out of the 3 year warranty period and trust the service team there.

Not keen on my local Audi dealer tbh (Watford).

Would I just have to confirm with my local dealer if they would honour the 5 DRC even if I didn't have FASH?

Thanks again mate.

I would find a good Audi dealer and travel a bit further.

I think the dealers have to consult with Audi UK before doing the goodwill work so it may not be solely in the dealer's hands?

spoke to Audi UK and they said it's never been a formal policy and they didn't accept it as so

more like hit and miss
"you can be my wingman anytime!"
"bullshit...you can be mine!"

i have spoken to audi uk about this too as im in the last month of the 5 years and on original DRC (06). They did say FASH but i know others have been ok without.
A friend of mine has just had one of his DRC replaced for the 2nd time (not sure when and what versions the 1st replacement shocks were). The dealer he used charged him. He has only had the car for 4 month bought from an audi dealer, who 1. knew nothing about the 5 year thing, 2. Said the warranty doesnt cover it.

I has since advised him otherwise, given him Audi UK's number and a copy of the letter to prove it.

The inconsistencies between dealers is ridiculous for this kind of thing.
