KW V3's installed - Pics Inside!

Post by 07_RS4 » Sun Jun 12, 2011 2:41 pm

Had my new KW V3 suspension installed today, wow what a difference! I am very impressed with how the car drives/handles now - am I crazy to state that it feels better than with the DRC?

That said, I left the shop without getting an aligment done. I go back to the shop tomorrow morning to get the aligment taken care of and perhaps some tweaking to the rear as I feel it isn't low enough? Based on the pics below, I feel the rear needs to be lower in order to give it a more "even" look...what do you guys think?

Great looking car! Did you have trouble with DRC?
A tad lower on the back would look great

Looks good. How does the handling differ from DRC?

Looks great! What's the ride like on bumpy roads?
Also slightly off topic, did you add the V8 badge under the side repeater or did it come on it from new? As far as I can make out it's something that the American version came with or am I wrong?

Yes, don't think the V8 badge is OEM for the UK.

I did have a "clunky" noise coming front pass side, and discovered that the rear driver side was starting to sweat, so timing was good.

Thanks. It feels tighter, naturally as it now sits lower. The driveability with the KW's is not compromised, meaning it still drives beautifully, not harsh.

I havent' driven it all that much, but I can say so far that it handles bumps very smoothly. No regrets in doing this mod!

The V8 badge were on all NA model B7 RS4's. A lot of NA owner's remove it for a cleaner look.

Love the white color! Nice stance but agree with rest a little lower on the rear ;)

Thanks for the PM.

I went for a fast road set up. 20mm drop all round (on normal sports suspension) bound/rebound settings 7/8 and medium ride.

Spacers are 10mm rear and 8mm front.

Tyres are standard 255/35/19s.

If you get your 4WLA done soon after having the coilovers installed you will most certainly have to redo it once the suspension has settled. I waited a few months between alignments (did a total of 4 over a year). I will also add that I brought my rear up by 5mm as it was sitting too low.

I will take measurements for you later.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
