For those with Audi Warranty - Renewal time

Post by Ross22 » Tue Mar 08, 2011 3:11 pm

Hi Guys,

Apologies if this subject has already been covered , but thought i would post just in case , as i got this info from Audi Camberley yesterdy whilst enquiring about my warranty renewal.

I have been debating whether to renew my Audi 'named component' warranty which runs out in Aug 2011 (3 rd yr of renewing) as i thought this had gone up from £1650 to £2650 . I do think these warranties are gold dust and the fact i have probably had about 20k worth of warrantly work done on it over the last 18month its a no brainer...but.....The renewal process has now changed as the work is being done in house by Audi now rathen than underwritten by Mondial (i think).

The Warranty renewal process is as follows

Options 1
Amaziingly , You can actually upgrade you existing 'Named Component' cover to a 'Fully Comprehensive' cover with differing excess options
a) £2466 - No Excess
b) £2004 - £100 Excess per claim
c) £1531 - £250 Excess :beerchug:

Option 2 ( Renewing my existing named component warranty incl roadside assitance)
a) 1800 - No Excess
b) 1531 - £100
c) 1176 - £250

Overall, i am really pleased by the above options as it makes the whole process more cost effective and i think probably less hassle than having to use other warrantry companies out there! Considering i was going to pay £2650 to renew, i now have more palatable options to consider but DYOR..This is all IMHO etc!

I am considering keeping the beast for that little bit longer now! :-)

If you want more info it on www.audiextendedwarranty.co.uk or call 0845 641 9708 for quote but DYOR..This is all IMHO etc!

Good luck
Ross

Thanks DK..Wise Words....

Unlucky for you! Do you have named component warranties for both your beasts or is the TT still covered as within 3 yrs?

So it is not possible to buy this if the warranty has already run out? It is for existing warranty customers only?

Rupert - I believe this is for existing customers only that are renewing their existing Audi warranty, although i do remember seeing a link a while ago where it may be possible (subject to fixing any items found during their 100 point inspection) but i am not sure if it needs to have FASH and no mods before they would even consider it.

I am sure someone with better knowlege will correct me though!

its prob worth calling them if your not in warranty, as they have changed their stance, and taken a more "commercial" approach, as can be seen by this new pricing structure

my warranty ran out 2 weeks before I renewed, but they let me renew, with a 30day no claim window

I wouldnt say im an expert, but have had 2 B7's

Reliable? compared to a Skoda, no! compared to a C5 ... yes !

DRC is still a pile of <beep>, all 4 of my shocks are shot ... Audi have a 5 yr 75k warranty on them, but trying to get this from your dealer is like pulling teeth

Aux rads are a common fail, historic issue with B6 / B7 S4's

Lots of cars have vacuum issues with the intake system, which cause them to lose power, EPC light is a symptom, but not always present

BUT

a V8 noise to die for
8.25krpm
no cambelt
60k plugs
no dodgy gearbox !
awesome looks
out of this world handling

all in all ... I'll never go back to a C5

B7 all the way

Thanks DK. Appreciate the response. Will be getting one of these one day for sure. But still really enjoying the c5 after all this time Looks like it pays to have a good warranty on any of these RS Beasts eh. Great fun but they do go wrong.
