Franklin Audi Leeds

Post by Jon » Fri Mar 28, 2003 11:24 am

Has anyone else had problems with Audi Leeds. I bought an RS4 from them which has been nothing but trouble. And thier customer service has been equally terrible. To the extent that John Cragg their MD has said that he will pay thousand to an independant expert to prove my car has been thrashed so that they don't have to take the car back or continue with the warranty claims.

I also told him that there are lots of instance on formums like this which have slated their reputation in handling RS models, and his reponse was that he didn't care as nobody sees them and wouldn't make a difference to his sales.

Can anybody else verify the service that they have had and do you have any stories similar to mine?

Jon

I bought my car from Heritage Audi in Salisbury and they have looked after me extremely well. There has been no arguments on issues over warranty, they seem very knowlegable and even are proactive in their service approach. The big thing for me was that they didn't bat an eyelid when my car was upgraded, in fact they wanted to learn from my experiences.

My suggestion is to locate an RS friendly garage and let them have your money!

Good luck

I assume you've tried Audi customer services? Any luck with them?

What are the details of the problems, there might be a solution via other people with similar issues resolved by other dealers in a different way?

just got some outstanding warranty issues that are quite serious and I have found they have got very round shoulders. I want to sell the car, but I won't sell it untill it is right as I don't think I should lumber someone else with these problems when it's not thier fault.

I guess I'm just too nice! lol

I bought my RS4 from Franklin Audi in Leeds. I didn't have a very nice experience.....

I suggest you speak to Sytner Customer Service, the lady who sorted all mine out was Tracey Watson (email: traceywatson@sytner.co.uk Tel: 024 76 408 408), she is the Customer Service Manager and loves getting things right .

If it wasn't for Tracey's effort I would have had very bad feelings about dealing with the Sytner Group, but I must say that the expertise and friendliness of Wakefield Audi is slowly restoring my confidence with the Sytner Group.

I don't know if you have taken any finance, but when I bought my S2 I had similar problems to yours. So, I wrote three letters, one addressed to the Audi dealer, one to Audi UK, and one to the finance company. I walked into the dealership and presented all three letters and threatened to post them if they didn't resolve all the outstanding issues. The finance company was particularly interested as they had basically financed a vehicle which was not worth the claimed amount due to the outstanding issues.

Let all hell break loose

If things need to get that far they will do, and I have evidence of certain wrong doings at Franklin that audi will be interested in. won't discuss them on here though as it may jepordise my position with sytner while the argument is ongoing. Ooooooo i always keep hearing bad things about Audi dealerships.

Ive not had any bad problems with Peter Gilder Audi so far.
But where should i buy a new Audi from??? (RS3 when/if it comes)

OR should i consider cutting out Audi UK altogether and import???

This gets stranger by the minute.

1st they agreed the car has had a number of faults so they were going to swap me into another car.

Then they sold the car I wanted to someone else after they agreed to sell it to me.

I told them I had an offer on another car so they told me the faults were down to impact damage (not hit anything) and I would have to pay for the repairs before I got the car back (which stopped me p/exing it)

now it appears that the repairs are under warranty and they are giving me it back soon!

i'd stay well clear if anyone is thinkng of using them!
