Evening all - I have just registered as I'm looking for an RS4 estate - the v8 variety.
I would like help on a few things!!
I have paid a deposit on a car today at Audi Leeds - KK07FUJ
look here - if this works! http://usedcars.audi.co.uk/carview.aspx?id=600921712
I havn't seen the car and am taking the dealers word for it that the car is in good nick!
It is the lowest mileage one on the audi used car locator that I could find.
a couple of things have concerned me!
It has budget tyres on it!!! Why would anyone do this on a car like that? The dealer is swopping the wheels with another rs4 they have in stock with pirellis on it.
Next, and depending on written confirmation from Audi and the dealer that this will not cause issues down the line! The car has only just had its first service according to the service book. I know they have 20k intervals (not that I would ever wait that long) but surely 3 years is too long? or it would deem any warranty on the car as being useless?
In summary - does anyone know the car or can any of you shed light on this?
I will post this up in general too in order to get maximum response.
Many thanks
Rich
owdo - anyone know this car?
RE: owdo - anyone know this car?
Welcome and Congratulations.
I agree the tyre point seems very strange, have you asked them why that would be, as it would be fair to assume they were not the original set. So its had new tyres but not a service? I also find the 3 year wait for a service rather strange. Why would a "car lovers" car not have been loved? Uhm, I don't have the answer to that, but it puzzles me.
Has it spent any amount of time off the road, crash repair maybe, hence new tyres? Just thinking aloud, as this could help explain why 1st service has been done so late?
I assume 1 previous owner?
I also assume ( and perhaps wrongly after reading comments on service from Audi UK ) that Audi pre check and provide warranty cover for their "approved" sales.
Good luck,
looks a great car, hope you get the answers to dampen your concerns,

Thanks for the message. Audi UK came back to me and they would not entertain future warranty claims and definately would not be interested in any kind of goodwil claims. The dealer offers a warranty labelled as an Audi one which the dealer assured me would cover everything but Audi themselves essentially wash their hands of a car without full history.
I am of course not buying that car!

Rich, I hope your recent experience hasn't put you off by an RS4. You just have to find a decent dealer......I nearly found out the hard way that buying from an official dealership doesn't necessarily mean you're getting perfect car or a water-tight warranty. I had to get Audi UK involved in my little episode. they were unwilling to play any part in the situation until I also started writing to What Car magazine, Essex Trading Standards and even Audi GmbH. At the dealership, unfortunately I had to resort to a little bit of good, old-fashioned aggression to get what needed to be done, done. Either way, everything worked out in the end and I can now get on with enjoying my car as my local Audi dealer is brilliant. Hope you get what you're after
