Another warranty question .................

Post by prof » Mon Mar 15, 2010 11:05 am

i have an audi warranty on my Rs4 cab which developed a fault with the roof mechanism recently - basically the rear deck did not lift up high enough when closing the roof and the two hooks on the underside of the rear deck have scored the roof on its leading edge and torn the seal between roof an the top of the windscreen.

Took it to my local audi dealer last week who said that that there are no fault codes "computer says no" and it was a one time occurence so they will be unable to pursue a claim with the warranty company as they can't find anything wrong - thay also say that the hood is classified as "bodywork" which is specfically exluded from the warranty .............

sounds like a load of bollocks to me as there has clearly been a failure, mechanical or elctrical which caused the fault.

should I contact audi warrantly directly or does the claim have to come through a dealer ???

I'd take it to another dealer, and /or call Audi directly
RS3 8P 2013 Phantom Black with Ally Pack and Black Optics Grille | LED Interior and number plate lights - GONE :(
RS4 B7 2006 Phantom Black with Titan alloys and mirrors - GONE :(

You may be better off speaking to Audi Customer services 0800 699 888.

Generally if you have a "non standard" claim, you are better off finding a really switched on Audi dealer, rather than a run of the mill dealer. How they deal with it at the outset makes all the difference IMO.
