Anti-freeze

Post by jd_hants » Thu Dec 10, 2009 2:13 pm

Any information on which anti-freezes are recommended and which should be avoided. I have an RS6, i.e. ally head. I believe some anti-freezes can be corrosive to aluminium. Also the handbook states to replace every 2 years. Presumably this is as the anti-freeze deteriorates over time and not because of anything else. Halfords do a 5-year anti-freeze. Can this be used?

I wold stick to the original Audi antifreeze. Good quality, and no worries on whether its correct or not.
