Loss of full power

Post by beejay » Tue Sep 15, 2009 8:36 pm

Hi Guys,

I recently got my car back from garage after an Oil service only (no other work on engine) but did do lots of work on replacement front upper and lower arms and suspension top mounts etc. I have noticed since then that there is a definite lack of power...You can certainly feel the turbos coming in, but it lacks the usual acceleration. Its a standard car, but even my wife noticed when she was driving it (although she tells me she never drives fast!!! ha ha)

Any one have any ideas as to what it may be..Garage claim they never touched anything in the engine etc and no fault codes are noted. I know the guy at the garage so know that he has not been tamepring. There are no other symptoms, i.e. oil usage or strange engine noise???

Get the car pluged into VAG COM and log a few power runs in third gear and monitor actual boost and MAF readings, that would be where i would start.

You might have a boost leak or something ?
