If price wasn't an issue, which tyre would you opt for?
I am getting very close to needed to replace my first set of tyres, well in all honesty they probably already need replacing.
I can get tyres cheap and do very low miles (approx 5k per year) so I am willing to get the best tyres available.
I have read many threads on this forum about tyres but opinions seem to vary a lot.
So which tyre would you opt for if money wasn't an issue?
I get the impression that PS2's are highly rated and used to run these on my TT and they were very good.
Cheers
Dan

The P Zero's are superb in all conditions but I go through them in 5-6k miles, so I've opted this time for ps2's they are equal to the Zero's IMO and my last set on ps2's lasted 10k miles. I don't rate the Goodyear assym but alot of people on hear rave about the 275/30 profiles ( I wanted OEM size wheels and the Goodyear 255's I tried were poor ).
Get ready to hear alot of different opinions
Basically you won't go wrong if price isn't an issue with the ps2's

Michelin ps2,theyre dearer to buy but give better mileage so there not really any more expensive in the long run, plus less tyre changes by monkeys at tyre depots has to be better for keeping rims in tip top cond
RE: Re: RE: If price wasn
Cheers for your replies, I think i'll go for the PS2's.

Better mileage than what though? PZero's and Conti's agreed, however my last set of Goodyears lasted 19000 miles for the four and would have probably lasted anoth 1k miles longer had I rotated them and not gottne a puncture in one that was non repairable.lengster1 wrote:Michelin ps2,theyre dearer to buy but give better mileage so there not really any more expensive in the long run, plus less tyre changes by monkeys at tyre depots has to be better for keeping rims in tip top cond
I seem to believe PS2 last in the 14-16k mile bracket? I realise that this controbutes to the price arguement, however with that above logic I could have two sets of Goodyears for the same price as PS2's and run twice the distance as a consequence; it can't be sniffed at.
As for Vredesteins, I can honestly saying I am not enjoying my driving experience with them as much as I did with the Goodyears. I am in the middle of invetigating various factors that may contribute to the driving experience at present, alloy and tyre balancing to see whether the alloys are warped / buckled, 4 wheel laser allignment which appears not have have made any improvement and suspension check but at present I am pretty confident in saying they provide inconsistent performance and not as good grip in the wet as the Goodyears and more road noise.
