So whats it to be then? S6 or RS6?
Hi everyone, am looking to buy either an S6 or RS6 around September time and am doing all the reserach into them now before I take the plunge. I previously owned a mitsubishi Evo 8 but it was not to good for the missus and our baby for space so decided I wanted something on par with it and with loads of luggage space. Am looking to spend 13K and am after something around a 53 plate, that will put a smile on my face, drive long distances around europe and be able to carry a pram, and shopping. So whats the opinion of the guys and girls in the know? Do I go for N/A or Turbo mayhem?

Got to be the RS6 i got mine in November 08 and it puts a smile on my face every time i drive it. Tho i think you might struggle to get a good one for 13k
I think coming from the Evo 8 it's got to be the RS6.. Fantastic bit of kit, there just isn't anything else that combines the performance and practicallity IMO..
Would advise you up your budget 2-3k if you can and get the car fully checked over by a specialist, specifically check DRC and gearbox but get a lappy on it and check for fault codes etc..
You wont regret it..

I have heard that the RS4 is limited for boot space, so looks like I am going to look into RS6 As for the budget that can be strecthed a bit, but regarding the DRC is this a common fault on all Audi RS6's or is it a case of the unlucky few? If not I might just be better off geteting an RS6 that has had suspension already replaced with aftermarket kit....
I think the general view is that DRC is fab until it goes wrong and it generally does..matt8442 wrote:I have heard that the RS4 is limited for boot space, so looks like I am going to look into RS6 As for the budget that can be strecthed a bit, but regarding the DRC is this a common fault on all Audi RS6's or is it a case of the unlucky few? Audi are addressing this I believe but your RS6 MUST have a full Audi dealer history, no mods and under 6 year old.. If you plan on keeping it for the long term and with your budget you will soon be out of this criteria..
Personally I'd say find one that's had the DRC replaced and you'll never need to worry about it, or budget / negotiate this into the deal when you buy..
Happy hunting..
