Leaking Diff Oil

Post by ShaneyB » Wed Apr 08, 2009 3:00 pm

Hi all,
A friend of mine is have a few issues with her Traction Control light coming on and getting a knocking sound from the rear of the car when she pulls away. She stopped the car after it happening a couple of times, took the key out, started it up again and it was fine. I've just looked at her service records and I noticed she has a leaking diff.
Could these be connected??

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers
Shane

Time to have the levels checked me thinks. Low diff oil can lead to wear and then play which can cause knocking as the diff takes up the slack as torque is applied.
