Keyfob remote pairing

Post by Shoppinit » Mon Apr 06, 2009 2:52 pm

One of my remotes has just stopped working. I've changed the battery, but still no go.

I went to my car and the keyfob wouldn't work to open the door. Then I noticed the doors were unlocked. I NEVER leave the doors unlocked. However the alarm LEDs were flashing on both doors. Weird.

I came across this procedure to learn the keyfobs:

Should I use this or the vagcom?

Thanks.

For info, the procedure works well. I didn't bother with the vagcom for the coding. I did find an odd fault though that I'll post elsewhere.
