Just joined - moving from Cayman S to RS4

Post by Les » Tue Mar 17, 2009 11:17 am

Hi, just signed up.
Planning to sell my Cayman S and move to a RS4 (saloon), why do people on here keep saying the only real RS is an avant? :?:

Looking for any pointers, tips or advice you can offer whilst I make the transition please? :?:
Any and all info appreciated :D

Welcome Les.

Well purely because Audi released the original RS (RS2) and then the RS4 in Avant form and exclusively in Avant form.

Then when the B7 came along they wanted to sell it to the US market so they made it in the Sedan version (Saloon) as Avant's are not as popular out there and that's the basic gist I think.

Nice car the Cayman S and great handling but not as Safe as the B7. Get the car checked for DRC problems mainly.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the info, good to know. Still prefer the saloon and I know its a brilliant car too, so should be an enjoyable car to own.

Love the Cayman but just need a bit more space as we now have two 2 seaters. Saloon is big enough for me though, so no avant just yet.

Thanks for the welcome to Contigo.

Les.

Could not agree more Scaghead. I feel estates are just not my thing, maybe when I'm 65 or something!

Really looking forward to getting the saloon, will let everyone know once I have changed over.

Cheers,

Les.

Funny you say that as I had the saloon RS and then went to the Avant and now I've got a little one it's just great. the practicality of an estate car that can get everything in (with seats down I can get a single bed in!!!) and with all the performance of a supercar. The ultimate sleeper

Sorry for calling it an estate but that's what they are. Isn't AVANT German for estate or muckle boot or something :D

On a serious note, that's the Cayman sold so now actively looking for a nice RS4 saloon :jump:
