Mint RS4 at Audi

Post by honahon » Wed Feb 18, 2009 1:08 pm

In my quest for a fine RS4 example, I asked my local Audi garage to source one for me, they've come back to me today and said they have found one, FULL, spec... everything basically. Avus, Black leather, warranty, 01 plate, FASH.... new camblet, clutch, supposed to be MINT, 60k, just had a full service.

They want 20k...........................

The car being veiwed for me today (hopefully) is pretty much an identical car but coming on 5k cheaper.. after discount of course :)
In descending order:
E46 M3 (fun, but common place)
TVR Sagaris (axe murderer in the wet)
Porsche 996 911 (no soul)
Porsche Boxter 2.7 (boring)
Audi RS2 (looooved it, except the bills)
Lotus Elise (fun under 60)
Audi S2 380 BHP (X2) (big bills, big hassle, but major fun)
VW Corrado VR6 (took 2 miles to stop)

What does he mean by FULL SPEC? There were only a few options for the RS4 i.e. sat nav, sunroof, curtain airbags ...... struggling to remember any more (without digging into the gmbh options list), and a salesmans idea of fully loaded is often not the case.

Was going to say the same thing.

Sat Nav is pretty pointless (RNS-D?) as you can fit the latter RNS-E, the original TV Tuner never worked that well anyway.

Did all RS4's come with Bose?

Sunroof is one extra that maybe nice, but the mileage and condition has got to be more important.

Nav +, carbon pac, arm rest, sunroof, winter pac ???????? full electrics, as far as I can remember from what he said. He told me "it must be my lucky day" which I thought was pretty amusing. What the hell winter pac is I have no idea. It's been sourced by Poole Audi - guy called Chris if anyone's interested.. Apparently they have been offered it from another trader so it would need to be brought in... you can bet your last pound they've paid prob 12'ish for and just adding on a huge premium. Not sure he was so chuffed when I asked if I could deal with the seller directly... received a flat no :-) Surely that's more like 15 \ 16k at the moment?
Bose is standard on RS4's I think.

Even my lowly S4 has the headlight wash...

Also mines got an engine, petrol tank, seats and a steering wheel too, all from the factory, surely that's FULLY loaded ;)

I've got a sneaking suspension that Audi have "sourced" this RS4 from here:

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... egLetter=Y

It's exactly!! the spec he told me, miles, cam belt, clutch, serviced 1k ago.... think he just chucked in the winter pac for good measure.

Can't trust blo0dy anyone.

If it is then..OMG!!.

Over a grand for doing a bit of paperwork and a couple of phone calls...

Actually, make that more than a grand. The trade price would have been silly probably...

Winter pack is a bag that sits in the rear centre arm rest, along with a small hatch that opens to allow your skis to be stored - I thought this was std, but may be wrong - not exactly high on my list of must haves, but I've seen quite a few RS4's with them.

I thought the arm rest was std on the RS4 too! Carbon pack was a no-cost option, but may not be your cup of tea?

That's the "Pass ski through" (not sure of the proper name) upgrade I think, not winter pack.

My S4 has that too :)

MFSW (Multi Function Steering Wheel) was an option.

Have it on my 6 with added tiptronic buttons at the top as well. Also had it on my last car (S8 ).

Handy too.

Did this salesman work for VW in the past?
Winter pack is what VW call heated seats/headlight wash/heated washer jets, it's a bundle available for factory order.
Confusion used to occur because if you ordered leather + xenons on a VW as these would automatically get you heated seats and headlamp wash (wash is a requirement of any factory xenon installation hence why aftermarket HID kits aren't strictly legal but that's another matter).
So I categorically say winter pack is not an option but all cars have heated seats and headlamp wash.
Full electrics?? I presume he's referring to electric seats which they all have.

They all have Bose.
Centre armrest was an option but most seem to have it.
The brochure is here and options are listed at the end
http://rs246.com/downloads/AudiRS4B5/Do ... K_2000.pdf

ones i have missed are
load net
self dip rear view mirror
isofix child seat prep
6 CD in boot
Alcantara pack
Black optics

That steering wheel IS rare but not sure I like it as the 4 spoke design is just like the one you get on TDI SE! Only time I have ever seen that before is on French RS4 being ragged around a test track on You Tube.
