Warning lights

Post by Zimzzimmer » Tue Dec 30, 2008 4:40 pm

Afternoon all,

Was hoping to pick your brains as my ABS light and the tractions control light seems to turn itself on either after heavy breaking or when the car has been sat in traffic on and off the brakes when the car is constantly in drive. If i keep flicking the box out of drive into neutral whilst in traffic is doesn't seem to do it......I know the discs are going to need doing v soon although the computer warning as not highlighted this yet as it used to in my old S3....any thoughts? Really appreciate your help.

Hi Zimzzimmer,

Could well be your brake light switch as Rob has said VAG-COM will indicate this. This was the case with mine and the part was about £8 and took me about 15mins to fit, just a bit fiddly......

Thanks all, apologies for the late reply...been flat out at work. Now I know it seems like a fairly common fault and cheap to sort I'll have to set aside next weekend to fix! appreciate the help
