Bluetooth centre amrest adapter.....is there one?

Post by Zimzzimmer » Fri Nov 21, 2008 6:38 pm

Bit of a long shot with this one, but does anyone know whether there is a bluetooth product/adaptor on the market that will connect to the hard wired phone prep already in the car, ie within the armrest where the phone would normally sit in the crade, to avoid having a sh1te phone which needs to be inserted into the cradle?

Thanks all

Right - stupid question [ducks], but am not sure if my car has proper telephone prep ...

I have the chassis thing in the centre armrest, even some kind of socket underneath it, and telephone volume settings are accessible in the radio - anything else to check for?

Have aread through this http://www.audiforum.us/multimedia/2417 ... di-a4.html

Unless your car is a late RS6 it will need the RNSE unit and BT module and the microphone will need to be installed in the roof dome, (near coutesy lights) this involves running a cable up the inside of the A pillar, which is a bit of bugger. The connector in hte centre armrest/console is standard I think, so not much use for the BT part. I would contact craigb (as above) a quick chat with him and he will soon put you straight on what cost and equipment will be need for your car. He is the Audi guru on such things.

It's the best upgrade I have had on my car!

mmm - I think the items mentioned at the start of this thread will work with any fixed car kit and "convert" to bluetooth.

I was wondering how you can confirm if a particular car is prepped for the fixed telephone - ie, do I have the mic etc.
