Tyre debate

This statement may interest some, just to raise the debate again!

DUNLOP SP8080E (HIGH PERFORMANCE)Manufacturer: Dunlop
Tyre: SP8080E
Features: While the SP Sport 8080E's name may make the tyre sound more different than it really is, it helps identify the tyres used as BMW's 17" option on the Z3 and as original equipment on the M Roadster (and differentiates them from Dunlop's SP Sport 8000).
Speed Index: ZR
Available Series: 40, 45

1. Have you tried finding these tyres on Dunlop UK website - you won't because Dunlop don't make them anymore.
2. Does the Z3 have a 7" rim size like the RS2 - I think the BMW Z3 fitted with these tyres came with a 7.5 inch or wider rim.
3. The text on the tyre shopper website is text they have put up not text from Dunlop and therefore should be viewed with caution.
4. Some years ago I spoke at length with Dunlop technical department about whether the 245/40ZR17 8080E was safe to fit on the 7" rims of the RS2. they said no.

Anybody tried the Goodyear Assymetricals on their RS2 yet.
£90ish on net.
Just wondered if it's all hype, or are they the next PS2's.
There certainly cheaper than the PS2's
