Hi Guys,

I have buckets in my car and over the past few weeks I've noticed that my driver’s seat squeaks...... Just wondered if anybody else had the same issues and if so how did you stop it??

any help appreciated

Mine developed a squeak too, about 6 months in. Mentioned it to the dealer when it went for an oil change, and they sorted it that day. Something to do with a bit of lubrication!

I had this, it was the piece of plastic on the seat near the handbrake rubbing on the leather. I just put a piece of cloth in between the plastic and the seat, stuff it in with a screwdriver and job done.

Have buckets as well and within first few months drivers seat squeaked, dealer fixed it said that a bolt in the seat was loose. Now 6 months later passenger seat squeaking on uneven roads, dealer fixed it said something rubbing inside of seat. Overall still very happy with car and dealer. Just blame recaro.

Oh dear, my mate had one of the first UK Cab's and the seat squeeked. Took it to the dealer to be fixed, they tried to investigate and broke a part in the seat, Audi would not replace the whole seat, so the seat had to be stripped into pieces - the broken part was on back order....... he was without his Cab for the whole of the summer (4 months in total). Not good.

If none of the answers help, my solution after 5000 miles and 4 visits to the dealer, was a Macdonalds paper cup holder stuffed between the centre console and the seat belt harness point. It's still there today, but no sqeaks and you can't see it. Put my seat 3" further forward and OK, but a apain for driving. Also better than spending numerous days at a dealer, with a misery A3 TDI courtsey car

I got that. Squeak coming from rear right-hand side. Varies with ambient temperature. Dealer aware and promised to fix.

I had this too, the left hand bolster of the drivers seat was squeaking. The dealer repalced "something" and the problem was solved, although they managed to wire up the switches for the bolster adjsutment the wrong way round. Sorry, can't be of more help than that.

Mine started squeaking almost as soon as I picked up the car, but only in sport mode - strange. It seems to have stopped for the moment. Thank god - drives you nuts. Alex

Jim,

I had a similar problem with the passenger seat. I got Audi to replace it under warranty.

I have it on the left bolster of driver's seat and it's driving me nuts. The dealer has looked at it twice, but it still does it. I now have to drive with the stereo volume up so loud that I can't enjoy the exhuast note.
