water injection who has it...

Post by S4 » Mon Mar 03, 2008 5:36 pm

Hello,

I I have fitted a few systems in the past way back, one being a really nice camco88 system, just want to see who is running a system on there S4..

If so

what brand are you running?

Where is the location of the tank and the size?

Are most running one nozzle in the centre of a apr bi-pipe?

What psi boost is your car running and when does is start to come in?

what size nozzle are you running, was this advised by the maker of the kit?

sorry for all the questions, its just there are not that many people running it, I find that really strange of these cars, not for just a power thing but for protection as well.

All the best

Don't know if you've noticed, but there's a group buy on water/meth kits in the Group Buy section at the moment.
$265 for a full kit I think.

I remember Matt Simis was running 28psi boost with his kit fitted.

I got the aquamist 1s kit using 2 jets of .7 fired at 10psi and taking water/methanol from the water bottle.

good guide to fitting on www.audidiy.com

thanks mate, I thought there would be a few more running it than this. you are using 2 jets... some people are only using one right in front of the body.

I know aquamist sometimes say put it right on the exits of the intercoolers, so this atomises and get a chance to cool the charge temp down. where is the bottle and the size.

I have two jets, bolted to a APR bi-pipe. I drilled a hole in the top of the windscreen washer bottle and as per Bretts recommendations use deioized water and methanol.

nice as you get a warning when the windscreen washer bottle gets low.

This is potentially a very stupid question but I have always wondered:

Is ionised water & methanol OK on your windscreen ? (doubt it!) or do you do without windscreen washers or do you have another tank & pump?

seems odd but most windscreen washer liquids used to be methanol based, it works really well, bit more methanol the better. stinks a bit though.

I used to use windscreen washer liquid through the aquamist on an old saab i had. worked well and didn't smell, I'm too worried about blocking jets now though !!

It is great for clearing the windscreen. But have disconnected the headlamp washers on my car.

Thanks matey, seems like a good setup, the only drawback being how small the tank is !

I modified a 10 litre jerry can and put it in my boot!!

Plan is to get something fabricated and put in the spare wheel well, but in the meantime this works a treat, and keeps the very flammable meth away from the hot engine ...

Why did you make a whole in the top? to feed the pipe down so it sits near the bottom? so thats ok for the screen. sounds good. but a small tank, and how lond does it last?
