Hi-tech material - seat repair

Post by DolphiN_Tech » Fri Feb 15, 2008 7:32 pm

Well, I think I've found the potential car, but there are a couple of niggles that will need sorting, one of which is the rear seat, which is otherwise in good condition.

The back seat has been caught by something sharp at some point, and it's put a small cut in the base. The leather can be replaced easy enough, but does anyone know the availability of replacement hi-tech material? As it's fabric it can probably be smart repaired reasonably well, but I'd like to do the job properly.

One option would be to buy a Hi-Tech interior ? I haven't made my mind up yet as my car originally came with a HT trim but I've sourced a whole black leather one and I may sell the old on... but they do come up on the bay every so often and I'll keep you in mind when I am ready to sell.

I have leather. If i had to choose again, i'd go for HT. You don't slide about as much!

Agreed, I do fine the HT does hold you better. Replacing the complete seat seems a little extreme, given that the current seats are otherwise good - also (price dependant) at that point you could probably start looking at retrimming all the centres - blue Alcantara ala RS2 perhaps?
