Considering A Red RS4 - Am I mad? Your help please!!

Hello all. I'm a potential newbie here, so please accept my apologies in advance for asking a FAQ, I'll appreciate being pointed to the relevant threads...

I am looking at an 06 plate RED RS4 tmr, (8k mls / about 43k/ Nav etc)..

Firstly.. am I mad buying a red one? - There don't seem to be many around, and I definitely prefer it in black..but there all about 3-4k more at the moment. Can any red owners pls let me know if they have any regrets.. (also has anyone had rear tints on a red one?)

Secondly, please can you point me to a post which tells me what to look for on a second hand rs4, i.e. things that go wrong etc etc but mainly reasons not to buy, or at least haggle..

There's not many red ones because thats a stinker of a colour.

I think the B5 looks great in red, but not so much on a B7.

Not at all mad....... I very nearly got a Red one but didn't have the guts in the end. I'd say if you like the colour and the car in it go for it! As said before you don't see that many in Red so why not stand out from the rest.

I saw a black B7 avant with black windows and wheels today, it looked dire. Mind you I don't live in South London. I think all Audi's look pretty good in red, even the A3's, you just have to brave/thick skinned.

I saw a red RS4 Saloon with black optics pack going through Moulsoe the other day, got to be honest didn't do it for me. The guy driving seemed to hit the rev limiter twice when driving by, either that or some serious engine issues.

Not mad at all, that was the colour i wanted along with black but ended up with black.

Saw my first red avant today in Dundee. Looked much better than I expected. Still wouldn't have one, and considering the other opinions on here, you may struggle with re-sale when its time to move on.

I have a red one and I was going to sell her about 3/4 weeks ago, I was offered 39500 trade for it, it has 15k and is on an 06 plate so I disagree with the comments about the resale issues.

I was unsure about getting a red one but I just went for it and I have had loads of compliments about the colour, secondly it really does show the arch bulges and lines much better than grey and black cars. Although I do really like black!!

Go for it, it gets more looks and comments than my 911 ever did!!!!
