What is the going price with hybrids these days? Two years ago I bought mine for 3500eur with hot side mods from buehn. I'm one of the lucky one who's hybrids have been bulet proof : ) even running 1.8bar peak boost.
I do have a set of KO4/rs6 hybrids and org rs6 turbos as a spare though + spare block/engine too just incase I have another fatal gaboom.

I'm about to get mine back in the next 2 weeks from Blouch, K04 housings with 997tt Extended Tip wheels stuffed in them. So far, they've been great, but they are in the US.

I use them for the kkk`s fitted to the ur quattro and other similar 5 cylinder applications.MarkB wrote:Have they got a proven track record modifying KKK turbos?grizz wrote:I'm going to use TURBO DYNAMICS for my rs6 hybrids .
My own hybrid in my ur has done plenty and is lasting well.
RE: Re: RE: k04 hybrids, where from and how much????
what is the benefit of hybrid over stock K04's for everyday runners??
is the risk too high if your not a serious modder?

RE: Re: RE: k04 hybrids, where from and how much????
Would hybrids running K04 levels of boost be more reliable than standard K04's? I suppose the spindle speed would be lower, so in theory they shouldn't 'wear' as much.
RE: Re: RE: k04 hybrids, where from and how much????
Yes they would definitely be more reliable. And also more efficient too.
Hybrids are built to take 530 brake as standard. So Running K04 boost levels below 500 brake are reliable.
Just make sure when you have the car mapped, you get it mapped properly. A nice custom remap will do nicely and tail the boost off slightly earlier to be safe.
1.7 bar is fine and then run about 1.4 to redline. (Or 1.6 peak if you dont have compressiion dropped). Using them like this will be perfectly safe and way below their full potential.
Im going this route and spending the extra just for the reliability.
If you need some turbos then I can tell you where to get some hybrids with a years warranty cheaper than most places. Just PM me. They are usually about £2900 for a pair. (I know its a lot) But I can tell you where to getthem for about £2350.

You can get K04/RS6 hybrids from AudSpeed on eBay. Even paying the full import duty and VAT, you're looking at £2135 delivered.
AW seems to have a few fans of their hybrids.
