Service countdown

A few weeks back the 1000miles to service light came on then last week down to 500 miles then 200 and now service flashes up on startup i wouldn't mind, but i've done less than 400 miles !

This happened to anyone else ? :?

this will be due to time,rather than miles covered.
1999 S4 bi turbo imola yellow,grey pearl wheels,now with KO4's.
2001 A6 avant 2.5 tdi,the work horse

but i've done less than 400 miles
..and it would also depend on how hard you drove those 400 miles!

If you drove them like a man possessed (as you should of course*) then the 1,000 will count down very very quickly. If you drove like an old biddy then the 1,000 will count down slowly.

* Disclaimer ... I am in no way suggesting that owners should drive their vehicles recklessly, dangerously or exceed speed limits or speeds appropriate for the conditions.
