I still have some spaces left for vmax sunrise top speed event on aug 19th.

Lots of exotica coming & lot of RS presence, if you fancy coming along drop me a line on craig.williams@spectrongroup.com marking subject rs246 vmax sunrise.

I can't afford this one, but feel the need to attend in the future just to see if I can eek some more out the car!

However, I have to thoroughly recommned this event and there are so many folks on here with awesome cars that I KNOW would love it.

So many are too worried to do 1/4 mile runs, not confident enough for tracks days, well this is something you can do without a harsh start, use all the power your car has got and with only one other car on track at the same time.

Do it!

Hi Craig,

I would like to do this, but want to get Stage II with limit removed first! Hopefully next time. ;-)

Cheers

Thanks Craig for a superb day. Organisation was first class and the weather held out nicely.

Four Audis on the day and all did well, in very good company. Paul your car sounded superb and was quick to boot.....

Dave your S4 went really well. Looking forward to the next one.

Results are on Pistonheads & will no doubt appear on the VMAX website in a few days, but the main facts of concern here are:

Dave managed an excellent 173MPH (fastest on the day of the Audi's) with his stunning B5 RS4
I managed 172MPH
Another Sprint Blue DMS B7 RS4 Saloon managed 169MPH although i left at 3pm so he may have improved.
The VMAX UK record has now been broken, with a 9ff tuned Porsche 997 Turbo Cab, managing 202MPH with the roof down & 211MPH with the hood up.

As for the DMS head to head, the other fella (can't recall his name) was defo slower off the line but i felt i'd really found the launch sweetspot so i doubt this has anything to do with the pipes on my car which were the only mechanical differences between the 2 cars.

The event was great fun as always & it was a pleasure to meet you Dave. I look forward to sharing some track time in Germany with you in a couple of weeks. You're B5 was a stunning example & very rapid.

Sounds like a great day out, glad to hear the weather was also good.

Shame no others were there.

"Shame no others were there" - not quite! I was there too with my S4 Avant but too exhausted last night to do much at all let alone post on here.

Great day and I was very pleased to get 162mph on my best run which I see compares with GrahamS4's 163 last time. Performance per £ of these cars is amazing.

Sorry I didn't get to say hello, Paul. It seemed that you were out on the track when I was parked and vice versa but next time, I hope.

But good to see you again, Dave, and thanks for the advice! We got through the day in one piece and apart from a small shield thingy behind the bonnet lock (£2 odd from the dealer) nothing broke and the brakes survived although it took a while to get used to the sensation of braking hard after the speed trap and looking at the speedo after a while to see we were "only" down to 100.

I echo GrahamS4's comments earlier in this thread - have a go, it's a great day's action, the atmosphere is very friendly and no one on this forum will be embarrassed by lack of speed.

Many thanks, Craig, for putting it together and I look forward to the next one!

Glad you had a go Daybar. It is a good day isn't it.

Great speed you got there!

I want to go back and experiment taking the bottom bend in 4th!

Sorry, I meant sorry more of the forum members weren't there.

I wanted to go but it was a family day for us and the weather here was awful, so we decided not to go, wish we had now.
