Upgrading discs on B5 RS4

Is it possible to upgrade just the discs (front and\or back) on the B5 RS4 to B7 discs (or other), and keep the original calipers and pads, or are they not compatible?

I'd like to improve the brakes over stock, but as its never going near a track, I don't necesarrily need the bells and whistle of a full upgrade

you can use original B5 RS4 discs with B7 rs4/6 calipers on the front. On the rear B7 RS4 discs are bigger(not by much) but you cannot use the stock B5 caliper. I have B7 RS4 brakes all round same as Brooner.

Isnt it the caliper that is the problem with the standard setup rather than the disc itsself?
