MRC400 here I come...

Post by Ads4 » Thu Jul 05, 2007 7:28 pm

Finally got the go-ahead from the wife to do some major spending! Car's up to see Doug again on Saturday and'll stay there for a couple of weeks while I'm on holiday...I've promised the wife 'I won't be wishing the holiday away, honest darling'

I'm getting RS6/4 brakes, KO4s, injectors, fuel pump, re-map etc and hoping for around 410bhp...Do you think this is about right?? (I've got a 100cell milltek system which should help things..). Not allowed to go for the intercoolers as well unfortunately, think that'll have to be a xmas present...

I'm hopefully going to beat you to it!

Think 410 is a little hopeful with standard I/C's though. Mind you, if the weather doesn't pick up, you may get away with the increased intake air temps!

Ads if you need someone to pick your car up and drop it off safely after the work has been done I could be persuaded!!! Seriously will be straight round for a spin in the non-literal sense when you get back.

A couple of weeks at MRC.............we hope. I hear MRC has a serious backlog of cars waiting to be sorted. I think it might be wise to extend that waiting time.

What's the damage then for the MRC400 treatment! At a guess I'd say £5000?

Cool...that would mean extra holiday time as I'm screwed without the motor :D

Well, the cars back and all I can really say is.....WOW!! Sooooo chuffed with the result. The car pulls so hard and just feels SO quick.

The brakes are awesome and I can't believe the difference in the clutch...the RS4 one is so much lighter it's unbelievable. Even the exhaust note has taken on a distinctly deeper rumble!

MAF reading is 335 which with the /.8 formula gives me around 417bhp-will have to get it on a rolling road very soon....and a trip to RWYB in August.

FMIC will have to wait until January though or the wife will probably leave for a quieter life....

Gotta speak to Julian and get him to explain to your wife how important KO4s are mate...it worked for me at the last RWYB!! :beerchug:
