Just back from the Nurburgring :) :)

Post by kies4 » Thu May 24, 2007 12:09 pm

Just had an excellent weekend.

we set off on friday morning from Harwich to Hoek van Holland.

we spent a night in Utrecht sampling the delights of our liberal cousins before a trip down the autobahns to the ring. We had a good few races on the way at one point I had a new S8 chasing me with my mates rs6 behind then a rs4 convertible with two blonds joined in. The V10 S8 couldn't deal with my newly tuned S4 cheers Doug !!! got off the clock a few times

We got down to nurburg in a few hours and a tank of juice or so from Utrecht and checked in to the ringhaus hotel ( to much ring this ring that)

we got in a couple of laps between 5 and 7, then replaced the fluid in my brakes (was pulling to one side still is :( )
then got a few beers in Adenau and headed back to Nurburg. for some kip

got up in the morning for a day on and around the ring before heading back to The Hague for more fun in Holland

and excellent weekend in all was 27oC on saturday glad I'd fitted the aquamist

1. watch out for "ringwoes" people who turn up with no transport and scab lifts in cars on the promise of of a paid lap that never gets paid.

2. try to stay in Adenau nurburg is pure boring at night

3. try to stay at the An Der Nordscheilf can see the track and drink beer from the balcony

4. watch out for extreme nutter bikers, one dropped in front of me with the back end all over the place as we cut into the Karousel (<beep>)

5. Don't try chasing the ringmini, its embaressing :)

6. take as many "gerry cans" as poss to bring me back loads of 100 ron vmax, you can really feel the difference at the top end

7. After the trip I found I was able to let go any animosity still held against the gerrys for the last few world wars :) sorry grandad
