Chuffed to bits!

Post by bobbler » Wed Apr 25, 2007 11:03 am

I got my S4 on Sunday - thanks Mikey!

Awesome, its everything I hoped for and more definately. The missus likes it because it can carry the baby around (and because its blue), I love it because its quick, quiet, well built and understated just enough.

I really cant think of a more perfect fun family motor TBH.

Absolutely devasted some poor bloke in an A4 last night, dunno the model as it was behind the whole time :) . He came racing up behind me when he caught sight of me. Let him play for a little while as I thought he had the same car due to it looking modded.
That all changed when the open road beconned though. Just completely left him standing there.
Man I love this car!

I must add that I have never seen someone so upset about selling their car as Mike looked when I turned up on Sunday. He seemed to be really hoping that I would let him down.
I am starting understand why though :)

Good for you, bad for Mike ;)

I'm not sure who Mike is to be honest, so is your S4 standard etc.? Pics?

Dave
Was Mikeyquattros on here.

Not standard though -
RS4 Suspension and ARBs
Powerflex bushes
710n valves
RS4 Clutch
Quickshift
Stainless brake lines
Uprated front (grooved disks)
Miltek exhaust
RS4 front grill

And to go on it I bought some Nuvolari 18s which I am going to fit at the weekend all being well.
Was going to put it in for a remap at MRC next week, but think I will wait until I get a little more used to it before that happens.
Only other "mods" I am doing for the time being are getting a few stonechips/scratches sorted out and the mobile phone holes on the interior and a aux-in adapter for the stereo to get some MP3 playback sorted.

Awww, sorry matey. You'll be glad to hear that shes getting some pampering though.
Service next week along with the Chipsaway type blokey sorting the scratch on the drivers side rear door. AWE Boost vent gauge on the way too, I had a moment of weakness with my credit card and bought it on a spur of the moment type thing.
Shes going on the rolling road at Powerstation May 12th, will see what shes putting down as standard and then a remap when I get used to the car a bit more :)

Yep, an S4 Avant is a superb family wagon.

More thirsty than Oliver Reed though sadly :(

Going to try out Audi-Volks services in Keynsham which is about the nearest I can find to me without going to a main dealers. The lady I spoke to on the phone seemed to know a lot about S4 servicing so hopefully the mechanics are better still :) . Would have loved to go to Dialynx/MRC etc but they are just a logistic nightmare when I have to work and juggle a family. If they do a crap job I wont go back. If I dont like the looks of the place when I arrive, I wont be leaving my car with them.

MarkB - dunno yet mate, I will post back after he's priced it all up for me. Shouldn't be too bad though, I had some far bigger scratches done by them before on my Integra for about £125 the other year.

Dan_G - Happy with the fuel consumption myself, but I used to this sort of level and expected it before jumping in. The ITR used to do 200 miles to £40 Optimax - part of the fun of 9000RPM redlines I suppose. The S4 is looking to get about the same MPG at the moment with 150 miles since I picked her up to £50 and half a tank left on the gauge.

Yes Dan, a superb family waggon...

and load carrier,
and cruiser,
and sports car,
and track car,
and stealth car, ( especially if it's light met green: then you get uber stealth)
and bang for buck car,
and better looking than Oliver Reed ( especially with alu mirrors: a must)

and mine only consumes 23mpg of v power average since owning, i'm pretty sure old Ollie's consumption is up on that!
