Recommendation: Cruise Control - Buying and fitment

Post by S4Jem » Sun Jan 28, 2007 10:43 pm

Hi,

Thought I would highlight a job well done by the chap (Gareth) who sells cruise controls on Ebay and fits them

He came round this morning as agreed and fitted this in about 1 hour. Thoroughly professional job ensuring all the wiring was spot on, ie, no loose connections that await around the corner in a few weeks, months or years.

I did think about buying the part from VAG parts and fitting this myself (using some of the helpful material on this website), however, after watching Gareth remove the steering wheel, trim, and ECU, and then wire the part up, all i can say is....I'm glad i did not try this one myself.

Seems that you really have 1 go at getting it right as all the bits need to go back on before you can test if all is ok, and the possibility of something going wrong is definately there.

So, I would highly recommend this chap if you're like me and are not technically minded (or just too lazy to do it yourself )
