Goodyear Excellence
Goodyear Excellence
Anyone tried a set of Goodyear Excellence on their S or RS?
My favorite tire for the past few years has been the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 for it's wet performance mainly.
Thing is though I don't like dirrectional tyres and noticed these... http://eu.goodyear.com/uk_en/tires/repo ... /index.jsp

Be surprised if that isn't directional too looking at it.

Looking at it, it can't be dirrectional. It has an outside edge and an inside edge. Meaning you can rotate your wheels to get them all to wear down the same

It looks directional to me too.MarkB wrote:Looking at it, it can't be dirrectional. It has an outside edge and an inside edge. Meaning you can rotate your wheels to get them all to wear down the same
Am I being stupid though? Why would you want to rotate a directional tyre? Just swap them left to right. You don't need to rotate them.

The only real issue with directional tyres is if you carry a spare, and it happens to be the wrong direction when needed.
RE: Re: RE: Goodyear Excellence
Directional means they have to be taken off the wheel to move from the left side of the car to the right. They are sided and will be marked with outside or inside face.

i have my spare tyres always fitted to suit the left hand side of the car as that's where most of the debris ends up, in the gutter

I also use GSD3's. The excellence are dearer that the F1's. Let me know if you decide to try them. Mine are ready to be changed..........MarkB wrote:That's the word I was looking for. I'll be giving them a go when I next need tyresPhilws4 wrote:asymetrical i.e they have more rubber on the outside edge which takes the major load and are NOT directional, PS2's are the same.
Thanks Phil
