Locking car without setting alarm?

Post by clived » Thu Jan 04, 2007 9:18 am

Is there a way to do this? I'm having a new "hood" switch fitted in a couple of days, but in the meantime the faulty one keeps triggering the alarm, so I'd like to be able to lock the car without arming the alarm - any ideas?

Can you not temporarily short the bonnet switch to get around this?

I think when you lock the car with the key, not with remote ??

I'm pleased to say that the problem seems to have abated for the moment, so no need for the proposed solutions above - but thanks.

HGH - that doesn't work - turning the key is just the same as using the remote, unfortunately!

Don't you have a button left from the driver seat in the parts between the front and rear door? With it you should be able to switch off the alarm..

Think it just switches off the internal monitors.

I think the only way maybe to lock the car from the internal switch, but with one of the rear doors open for access.

PM MrDitto as he had this problem recently.
