Pay Day Friday - Check my shoppin Basket

Post by ZeroK66 » Tue Jun 27, 2006 4:46 pm

So being in sales, 1st 1/4 is never great for me. I spent the last couple months catching up from a flat purchase, first time furniture, AV & whitegoods purchase and the S4 purchase - not the brightest things to do at the same time!

Anyway, finally in the green, so here is this months Bought/Buying items:

eBay "cheap" Short Shifter - £55
BBS CH Alloys & Toyo Tyres 19" - £900 (eBay)
VAGParts Aero Wipers - £50
Audio Install - 1k
MacBook 13,3" w/ Vista Loaded - nice :P - £800
Smile on my face = Priceless :P

Next on the list include ARB's with MRC, airbox mod, VAG-Com Again(Having been scammed by vag-com.co.uk) & perhaps an MRC remap... not sure on that one yet though.

I will post up pics of the car once the wipers are fitted & the alloys go on! I hope the car will be a true looker then :D

£2805 You get paid far too much

I only paid £30 in post for my short shifter off ebay. So you can now spend 25 quid on food
BMW 540i
2018 GTR
F90 M5
X3MC
RS3 Saloon
RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

I would change the ICE for some B7 RS4 front brakes, and put the ARB's ahead of the wheels, you may have some money left for new shocks and springs then.

:( - well I NEEDED an ice install as the previous owner had pretty much left the car disabled. The rear shelf has been cut out and a stealth box for 2 x 10" subs left in its place. There was no CD changer etc etc. The car is dynamatted to the hilt so may as well take advantage of it :P

ARB's may have been sooner if the deal hadnt come up on eBay when it did.

Anyway... all those items you have listed are on the list, but £1.4k on brakes & £800 on suspension - all of which you cant get your money back for is a bit of a killer.

BBS CH's- i likey but general consensus for S4 is that with 19's your gonna lose more than you gain.

Look great but most return to 17's/18s for ride quality/ handling. You must post some pics when your sorted and tell us how they are to live with.

ICE £1k?? - what you gettin.

How much  It will look awesome on them

19s ruin the acceleration feel on lower powered cars - but you do get nice precise turn in on really low profile tyres.

Thanks guys - the last few posts make me feel better... the first few made me feel like a bad person lol.

The CH's should look great - itneresting what you say Doug - thanks! I cant wait to see how the car feels. The A4 w/ 18's didnt feel much worse that the standard 16's I had! Lets see how the 17-19 jump feels!

The ICE install is:

Rainbow SLX Deluxe 235 5" components in the doors (80W RMS)
2 x Arc Audio 10D2 10" subs (250W RMS)
1 x Phoenix Gold Xeon 200.4 (200W RMS x 4) amp.
Cabling and bits & bobs... an Ice>Link iPod adapter for my nano in the glove box.

All in all that sounds great - little bit of fiddling to be done to get the sound just right, but so far very happy!

I will get pics up early next week as I get the wheels this weekend and the adapter plates on Monday (Thanks CliveH for the recommendation - top bloke) - wipers should arrive this week too - the car should be looking & sounding great.

Now if only a few RS6 bits were on there... brakes & Hybrids... lets hope sales are good over the coming months... wanna buy a house though, so not sure how I am going to fit it all in :-/

I think the BBS CH's are 29lbs which is lighter than the standard Avus wheels... not sure on tire weights... I searched and searched and searched and couldnt find indications on tire weights. I hope that I dont suffer too much change in acceleration - that is ofcourse why I drive what I drive!

As Doug says, it would be quite noticeable on a lower powered car, especially going from 17s to 19s, but the effect should not be as dramatic on an S4 :D which is why you drive it... :s4addict:

Best of both worlds - both OS on there to play wtih & also just to be different... ;)

Hate VAIO's anyway...
