About removing pre-cats....

Post by quattrosteph » Fri Jun 23, 2006 10:28 pm

So, how many of you had their pre-cats removed? Did it work for you very well? Anybody had a rolling road after the mod?

Is there a big difference between high flow cats (Milltek) and Oem down pipes with no pre-cats ????? 8)

Me

Yes very well

No rolling road but after gutting my pre-cat I could run more boost and ignition advance so reduced my FATs time by nearly a second

No Idea

Deffo a good worth while power and spool up time mod

RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.

RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

Um, don't the Milltek cats come with pre-cat free downpipes anyway?

Bye Bye pre-cats!!

Well, had my pre-cats removed today, very impressed with the mod. I do not feel any difference at low rev but start around 3400, 3600 it pull harder right to the red zone, very impressed i have to admit 8)
The sound is much deeper under acceleration, very nice, not over the top.

I had a good look at the oem pre-cat while on the floor and i still can't believe how many holes there are and how small they are!!! It did restrict the flow for sure (around 400 cells per inch2!!!!!).

Will be curious to see the difference on the rolling road, i am pretty sure about minimum 10 BHP.

Damn!! now i think i need a brakes upgrade! :kissmyrings:
