Hello anyone here has tested top speed on rs2?
We have too bad roads in Norway.
Does Rs2 more than 163mph 262km/h
Is it true that the rs2 is electonic limit on top speed(max163 mph)???

Sorry my bad english

Hi there,

yes, top speed is limited to 163 mph (if I remember correctly rev limiter is at 6500rpm in top gear, whereas it is 7100 or 7200 rpm in all other gears). It is very easy to remove the limiter, although the Audi service manual says that "you must not remove the limiter" :bigblink:

hope this helps,

Tim

I had 175mph on the speed on the road from Bonn to Koln, ahead of an BMW M3 Evo Sport (with spoiler down) doing 162mph and behind a Porsche 993RS with a tuned engine doing 185mph. I think the speed was quite accurate

Rune,

the manual states: (below is a direct quotation)

Coding variants of Motronic control unit - J220

The control unit identification and the coding are displayed when the fault is interrogated.

The coding is performed through the wiring loom.

Only coding 4 is permissable.

CODING 4:
Road speed limited to 270 km/h.
Contact38 of Motromic control unit is permanently connected to earth.
If coding 1 is displayed for the control unit identification, service cable connection between contact 38 and earth.

IMPORTANT!
If the earth connection is removed, the road speed limit is cancelled. It is not permitted to perform such a modification.

[END OF QUOTE]

From this, I would suggest (although tuners on the forum such as S2_tuner (Mihnea at MRC) would be far better qualified to answer this question) that all you need to do is remove the connection to earth from contact38 of the motronic.

However, i don't think it will get you much more than another 7-10 mph (10-15 km/h)

hope this helps,

Tim

I met the famous speed limiter several times, around 270/275km/h, on the highway from Stuttgart to München
