Exhaust systems

Post by Tweaky » Fri Nov 04, 2005 2:05 pm

Right i have finally got my RS6 avant.....yippee, and am looking at exhausts for it. I have a miltek on my S4, which to be fair has been great, but just want to see what other systems are out there at a comparable price....i.e not the mtm one. What have people got? I thought i would try and go for the complete system, then get it remapped, so i would guess that it should top the 500bhp with ease. I see that the gearbox ecu is remapped as well.....does this make much difference?

Also when chipped how does it effect the fuel economy over standard in like for like situations....i appreciate it will be more thirsty when booting it, but how about normal running around?

Also, for those of you with after market springs fitted, does it smooth the ride out at lower speeds as my car seems harder on the arse than my S4 with H&R coilovers fitted.....which incidently is now for sale :)

Any advice is appreciated.
Phil.

oh and when do you need to start fitting uprated oil coolers?

uprated oil coolers apply for over 550 horses. Milltek as in your RS4 will sound awesome. I suggest get thestage 1 chipping and then do others later. Fuel econ will suffer coz your right foot will get heavier (even when sensibly driven)!!!!!
RS6 (MRC'd with econodrive) is not just for Xmas
Toyota Aygo Platinum for minimising carbon footprint.

Can i get the full exhaust fitted without the ecu remap, then get the ecu done at a later date? or will it run like a dog?

Phil,

I have all of what your considering fitted to my RS6 & many more modifications besides.

Would take far too long to post the details, although a quick search in here for older posts from me, will bring up most of the detail.

If you want to call me, as it;s far easier & quicker to discuss than post, then feel free. I've PM'd you my mobile number.

I have the MTM stage 2 modification to my RS6+ using the Miltek exhaust. Basically it is not worth the money going for the MTM one as the Miltek is well built and sounds fantastic. At the same time I had teh ECU and gearbox reprogrammed, a larger fuel pump fitted and free flow air filters. It increased the BHP to 540 and levelled off the torque giving fantastic acceleration from 2k to 6k.
