Just seen this story on Pistonheads, self diagnostic tool with manual of codes for VW and Audis for about £60

Don't touch it. Get VAG-com. You can do much more than simply check diagnostic codes check http://www.ross-tech.com for further info. It is a must for any VAG owner that does not want to write blank cheques to the stealers....
