RS4 Brakes

Post by ShaneyB » Fri Jun 03, 2005 12:15 pm

Hi All,
Will stock RS4 brakes, calipers etc fit straight on to my B5 S4....? If so, is anyone thinking of upgrading their's and I'll buy your originals...?

Cheers in advance.

Simon, how are you getting on with your new brakes. Finally done my bedding and am really happy with my brakes. They really do 'kick in' when you floor the brake pedal......heaven (well almost...) at last.Just shows how 'standard' (crap ??) the orginal ones are.Has really improved my confidence in cornering knowing I can brake hit the brakes right at the last minute. :D :D

what pads are you using with your AP fronts? How much and where do you get them? Are they easy to change?

Standard AP brake pads what ever they are,(seem quite hard as they dont seem to generate that much dust) £1900 inc vat and delivery, Demon Tweeks, but be prepared to wait a while, and yes they are a piece of p**s to change

I'd be interested in a source for cheap replacement AP (Ferodo IIRC) pads.

Basically I have decided to stick two fingers up at Ferodo, and have ordered some pads from EBC. Why? Well here is why:

- Front pads for the AP kit are £100 (DP4006 Yellow) and £90 (DP3006C Red)
- Front pads for stock RS4 brakes are £112 (DP31035C Red)
- Rear pads for stock RS4 brakes are £50 (DP31522C Red)
- The lady on the phone was extremely nice, and knew what she was talking about
- The gent I spoke to regarding advertising on RS246 and TrackDayHeroes was keen to be involved

Ordered some Yellows for the front and some Reds for the rear. Result. Just see if the proof is in the braking :D
