Suggestions for head unit upgrade??

Post by 30mgs » Mon Jan 10, 2005 12:26 pm

Has anyone else ripped out their concert head unit and thrown it up and down the street because the volume control is knackered??

If so, what did you replace it with?? I'm only looking to replace the head unit and have a budget of around 300 quid.

Whats wrong with it?

Does the volume adjust on its own or is it simply not working.

Assuming that you want it to work rather than replace it, it may be simply fixed.

I presume it's the standard problem with the non-volatile memory in the processor chip getting 'worn out'. I think that it is possible to get the unit repaired, and some one has modified the firmware to reduce the number of writes, so that the problem is virtually eliminated.
