RS4 test drive.........

Post by >RS4< » Sat Jan 08, 2005 8:17 pm

So......went to an Audi dealer today to take a test drive in a black RS4

just to get an idea what an RS4 should drive like.

Well, this car already did a 143.000 kms ( which I think is qiute a lot)
but it is in a very good condition, ofcourse it;s very obvious that the dealer did a respray on the complete front(stonechips).

Also it's tuned to 440 hp, quattro brakes and exhaust.

When they did a cold start with the car i heard no rattling and it seems to run very smooth....(VERY smooth).

I asked the salesguy about the maintenance and he said that it has a full history.

The car drove very fine I must say,no sqeaking brakes and gearbox.

All in all a tough decision....they ask 47.500 euro for the car.

wadda ya think??

Where are you based? - are there many RS4's in your country.

I'd say it was overpriced....you can pick up left hand drive RS4's in Germany quite cheap I believe...

My guess is The Netherlands:
a) the reg plate on the van in front, and
b) the name on the sign.

Yes, I do think it is overpriced.
Do iI remember there is a tax on secondhand carbuying over there :?:

@>RS4<
How much is this tax?
In Germany you pay about 33000 Euro for a car like this.

You wrote of Quattro brakes. But the rear brake (on the pic) is standard :?:

All the info I give you is what i get from the dealer (that's why i post this here  ).

And what you say about this car in Germany, If i would have to pay the tax on this car when from Germany.
I would have to pay an extra 10.000 euro's (still wonder why there are so few RS4's in The Netherlands??)

However,I'm looking to buy one from Germany within the next 2 months..

Bottom line; a car from germany is still cheaper for me and these cars have more options.

I think you should check the spec of the car again, those brakes are stock/standard..........tyres look a little bit in need too

Agree with Simon, definately stock brakes and the tyres don't look too great. I'd also check the exhaust if they reckon that is a Quattro gbmh part...

The 440bhp sounds a little strange too...have they got any proof ? if it's a basic chip/stage 1, I'd expect 420, not 440....unless they're claiming an extra 20bhp for the catback exhaust (which I think is unlikely). Are they offering a full warranty?

Not trying to put you off, just don't want to see you ripped off by the dealer!

@Dave,

I just appreciate it !

This dealer has two RS4's and when I looked at the other one indeed the exhaust was alot smaller and more silent.

So i def. think that the exhaust is no original part.

This dealer is not gonna rip me off! keep those comments coming....
(i'm thinking of going to Germany for an RS4 because those cars are better equipped and cheaper too)

I would never buy a tuned car with such high millage like the one you´re looking for. Think within two or three years , who will buy a +200.000Km tuned car ???
Anyway it´s a very good sign of reliability to see high millage tuned RS4 still pulling strong.

Nothing like contradicting yourself.... Isn't the RS4 engine, just a tuned 2.7T ?
