Normal or not?

Post by markcanderson » Mon Apr 05, 2004 7:27 pm

Help...

I've got a buyer who (i think) has never seen an RS2 before up close and he's pointing at all sorts of things - trying to make out that they are wrong...

Can anyone tell me if this gap on the B pillar between the doors is normal or not ???

Mine too - had to go and check though as it looks terrible...

Another regional difference for the SA market or an optional extra? - I've got little black infra-red detectors one third up the pillar for the remote central locking. A real pain as you've got to be right up close for them to work...something about stopping car thieves going around carparks pushing buttons at random. Audi reverted to the wider angle variety in later cars...consequently I can supply you with a nice late model RS6, cash only, unmarked bills, 20's and 50's :smile_smoking:

I had these on mine. When I upgrades to a CAT1 alarm I replaced the B-pillar covers from an older, lesser Audi 80 model. The breakers yard yielded loads and second hand ones without those ugly blobs on. They cost next to nothing and they are simply covers held on with 4 screws. 5 minutes to change the pair of them and I think I pais 3 UK Pounds fort he pair.

PS. The gap is normalfor the Audi 80s. I am surprised that someone suspected it to be unusual......what else could fill the gap? It is hardly a shutline but a consequence of design which is quite obvious to the untrained eye. LOL!
