Hey all - finally got hold of a silver S3 (51 reg) - very pleased with it indeed.
Got it all checked out and found it had recently been serviced by Audi and had been the long life one.
I was under the impression it should give around 16k miles if not more but it is showing only 7,800 miles left til next service.
Asked Mr Audi in St Albans and they said it was correct, just meant the guy who had it b4 me drove it fast etc !?!
Have seen other posts where it can take a few weeks or a few hundred miles to re-calcualte but this time/miles has passed now.
Does this sound right to you, any ideas??
Thanks.

Long service query
Re: Long service query
i'm amused at the 'Driving' it fast comment - better to drive it fast than stop-start around town where the motor doesn't get chance to open up...
my old S3 motor had its first avs service at just over 18k miles, and a year (16k miles) later, the service indicator was showing 2.5k miles until next service - despite numerous track days and spirited drives to/from work etc...
is you motor still on AVS or have they changed it to fixed??

Re: Long service query
Ours is on fixed servicing intervals at our request. The DIS display for the next servicing went haywire prior to the first service last year and was showing a service as due in ever decreasing intervals - way below the 10,000 mile/12 month mark. The garage just reset it.
Re: Long service query
There is no visual way of finding out without the aid of a VAG-tool. Just have the trust the dealers get it right
Always check your nuts before you have a play !
Re: Long service query
