Had my RS4 for a couple of weeks and just taken out all the audio from my old car ready for collection by new owner this weekend. I have a Valentine 1 with the hardwire kit. Anyone added this to an A4 before and has any wise words to calm me before I take a screwdriver to the trim to find the fuse box. May chicken out and let AMD do it when they get the car on Monday for first mod. If it's easy I'd rather do it before then as the ciggy lighter adapter looks crap.
Cheers,
James
Hardwiring in a Valentine 1 - advice please
Re: Hardwiring in a Valentine 1 - advice please
Well either I have lost my marbles or the RS4 manual is lying. Taken the cover off the end of the dash on left hand side as instructed and found no fuse box behind it.
Re: Hardwiring in a Valentine 1 - advice please
If your car is right-hand drive, the fuse box should be under the cover at the other end (ie, driver's side).

Take down the panel below the steering wheel (the one that goes down to the pedals, and you'll find a nice terminal block that has negative, switched ignition live and permanant live too. just need some crimp/solder on ring connectors and inline fuses and you are laughing.
