Audi RS3 quattro

Post by Riz_RS4 » Wed Jan 14, 2004 10:48 pm

Mmmmm news of production starting for the new RS4 in 2005 rules out the RS3 doesnt it?

I personally now think Audi will push the RS3 to oneside and go green on a Audi S3.

What do you think?

I agree with your blue jeans and yellow trainers Riz.
I reckon a S3 will come

Riz, personally I don't think there will be an RS3 (surely there is no market for a 30k plus super premium compact). My bet is that there will be an S3 that will produce more revenue for Audi as it will sell more cars via more numbers (ie not as exclusive as an RS but better attention to detail than current A3), and as Dunc and myself mulled over tonight over a few beers , the current A3 3.2 is a bag of poo which will probably hold people back for buying the hopefully better all-round package of the S3...

However, if my memory doesn't deceive me (or wishful thinking!), the official audi promotional material mentioned the A3 design team quoting they were producing "something rather special!"

anyway, you'll still be deep up the tailpipes of your R32 to notice what is going on in the Audi world anyway.

yep this is what i was thinking..... RS3 would have been nice as im definately into cars which are produced in rare numbers... the less of them the better.

My Golf will keep me busy for a while and i will be ok Selling my S3 has gotten my out of my job which i hate so much and cars come and go in my eyes.

RS4 is way too expensive for me at the moment and i dont want to bleed the family business dry.....

Thanks for your views guys.....

Riz

p.s. Still got my name down for a RS3 just in case

Naaaa not yet, its going into the Auto Trader mags next week i think.

Had quite alot of calls/intrest from the website though.
2 geniune people also who need to sell their cars first and 1 whos doing a house deal first and one **unamed** individual from north oxfordshire iirc who said he`d be coming up to see it, said he would ring on sat morning to confirm but i had no call.... maybe a timewaster who knows

Its always a bad time of year to sell to be honest, will hold out aslong as i can.

You could always sell youre trainers and buy a die cast RS4, the at least you could say you own one.

On a more serious note. If they do make a S3 / RS3 I hope they still leave in the option of having a manual box.

I prefer to change gear myself thank you very much.
