If this is true, and if it works, I'll be a happy chappie indeed! It's been a long time coming. Of course, the only issue is how many of my local and fairly rural roadworks are going to be registered with ITIS? Is route-planning Nirvana still beyond the grasp of mere mortals? Who knows...

What happens to those with non-DX systems?

Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!
Sorry - I haven't asked about non-DX systems. Do you have the TMC hardware installed?I have now ordered my TMC disc on the phone. It costs GBP179 and is copy protected! Be aware that the UK disc currently on the web site at GBP89 does not have TMC data.

Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!
I have TMC on my BMW and whilst I agree that £179 for the disc is expensive, the benefits of TMC can easily save you more than £179 if you cost the time that it will save.
TMC works best on major routes as a lot of the data it receives is from Eddie Stobart lorries, National Express, AA roadwatch etc. So for those of you doing that sort of driving its easily IMO worth the money.

Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!
Received this morning. Installed and working. I can now set the route planning to take the TMC data into account automatically. I can also call up textual details of the current holdups on the screen. I guess that it will take a little while in use to see exactly how helpful the new features are in practice.I have now ordered my TMC disc on the phone.
The price of the disc has been reduced to GBP155 - so that's an additional GBP66 over the standard disc to add the TMC facilities. It costs GBP179 and is copy protected!
Web site still doesn't appear to have been updated.Other improvements in the new disc include:Single disc for Britain and Ireland (was 2 discs).Full major road network for the whole of Ireland.Detailed road network extended to include 20 cities in Eire.Postcodes can now be entered to the digit of the second group (ie, all except the final two letters) - was previously only the first group of characters.Be aware that the UK disc currently on the web site at GBP89 does not have TMC data.

Ah, okay. My car came with the 2003 disc. I didn't bother with the intermediate release, awaiting TMC.

Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!
Right, a little update following experience in use.
I have the screen set to auto-zoom and now, when not in the proximity to any guidance instructions, the display rests with a much larger area covered, showing the points of all known delays marked by black/white triangles. What happens with auto-zoom turned off, I don't know. I have never been aware of any reported delays which weren't on motorways - doesn't mean that off-motorway delays aren't reported, just that I haven't noticed any. Also, I haven't yet been in a situation where my route would have taken me through a delay, so I don't know how well the re-routing works.
The textual details of the delay could be of interest, but reading them whilst on the move is a little dodgy!
The straight ahead arrow, in the DIS display, now has a 'D' overlayed - I don't know what that signifies.
I'll probably be travelling up to North Norfolk next weekend, I'll see how it fares on a longer trip.

Thanks for the update - keep us posted please!
Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!
my non tmc 2003/2004 arrow also has a "D" in it. I assumed it meant simply direction ?
Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!
Ah, okay. Mine didn't have the 'D' with the 2003 disc - nor did the non-DX standard Nav system in my old A6.

Re: TMC available for Audi Nav system!
Does the "D" mean dynamic routing? I think if you press the traffic button, there's an option to turn dynamic routing on or off (why you'd want it off is beyond me though?).
More TMC Info
The M25 is interesting!!!! Being about the busiest road in the world it gives the sat nav a good chance to try the TMC out - I'm driving every day.
The triangles that warn of traffic jams have different coloured lines - blue for slow moving, red for standstill, the motorway also is shown in this way: totally clear is blue, slow is blue with white stripes and stopped is red.
I haven't managed an automatic detour yet.
